We currently have two roles available:
Maternity Position - Burrow (up to 2 years age group)
One of our wonderful Burrow teachers is heading off in March/April to welcome her own wee one to the fold and we are searching for an experienced, RIE inspired teacher to join our team.
Full time teaching position - Meadow (over 2 years age group)
Another of our teachers is off to complete her degree in ECE, leaving a position open for a qualified, in training, or unqualified (but with the right experience or looking to start studying) teacher.
Keep reading for some further details on both of these roles.
We are a RIE inspired centre who practice what we preach. You will work closely with both the Centre Manager and Centre Director who both have an open door, hands on policy. We have a close knit community, with great parents who really "get" our philosophy.
The centre is based in Central Auckland but is tucked down a quiet, leafy street with large outdoor play space.
The centre is licensed for 50 children, 12 under twos (which we keep to 10 children under two).
Our team work on a 9 day fortnight, with the 10th day including a few hours of professional time from home and the rest of the day to yourself. This allows you to rest, recharge and have a weekday to nail those chores - leaving the weekend free to fill as you wish!
We have low ratios and regular relievers. You can expect a supportive learning environment with regular PD and options to attend training such as Dance with Me in the Heart or RIE Foundations.
A little more about the Burrow role:
You will be working in the Burrow space with children up to 2 years of age. We work in a play based, main caregiving environment with a true RIE focus. There is a strong pathway for growth for the right person, so you may have leadership aspirations. You will be an experienced teacher, with a passion for RIE and Pikler philosophies. You have probably completed RIE Foundations training or would like to complete it as soon as possible.
You will be working in a team of four and must be a real team player.
This role might be in a full time capacity or a part time capacity - we are open to talking about the best fit for you.
12 month contract role with the option of it being a permanent position for the right person. You must have the right to work within New Zealand.
A little more about the Meadow role:
This position would suit a new teacher, just starting their career. You may be starting out after graduating or you may be considering study around a full time position. You will be working with our over two children, within a supportive and experienced team. You must have a passion and knowledge of our philosophy and really feel the connection to what we do here at Oma Rāpeti.
You must have the right to work within New Zealand.
To apply, please email your CV and Cover Letter telling us why you would love to work at Oma Rāpeti and what really makes your day as a teacher. Email Nikki: email@example.com
